" Not until we're sure. "

Scott then looked back at the science console, and then it hit him. Like a proverbial ton of bricks it hit him. He had seen that reading before, almost 6 months ago he had seen those exact readings. He froze with terror, a single bead of sweat escaping down his forehead. This lasted but a moment, and he exploded into action, his voice changing to a commanding tone.

" Red Alert. Shelaf get all tactical systems up and running. "

"Aye sir." Shelaf pressed in the appropriate commands and, deep in the bowels of the ship, huge amounts of power were routed to weapons, torpedos pushed into launch tubes, lights dimmed further and a dull red glow permeated the vessel. "Red alert. Tactical systems at full readiness." Shelaf reported.

Munro could tell that there was definitely something wrong by the demeanor that Bradley had, and even more so confirmed when he shouted out "red alert". Riley's fingers ran along the console as she made sure all the decks were reporting in as ready, with only a crew compliment 65% full, they would need all the help they could get.

"Sir, orders?" She said as calmly as she could.

Scott raced to the centre of the bridge, this couldn't be happening. He prayed that he had been mistaken.

" Riley, get us back to Earth. go to warp. "

Scott turned around to look to Shelaf.

" Shelaf, keep that trigger finger ready. "

Riley put the coordinates into the console and slid across the controls to put it into warp drive. She had a slight flashback to driving manual in her youth in Israel. With the shake of the ship jumping to warp she shook out of her memory.

"ETA 2 minutes sir." She spoke calmly still somewhat dazed. Going to warp in the system was strictly not allowed, but she felt it was warranted at the current time.

As the Discovery screamed towards Earth, Scott went over the readings again and again. He was not stood beside Shelaf at tactical, double checking all weapons and shields.

" Those readings, we picked up the exact same ones six months ago. But not on our Earth. "

Shelaf looked up in shock. "The Borg?" He asked, quietly. He didn't want to alarm the other crewmen on the bridge. "But that means that the phantoms are..." Shelaf realised the full situation all at once. "Earth has been invaded... and they don't know."

Price had looked around in shock when the red alert had been sounded, and had been even more shocked when the Discovery jumped to warp. He looked at his console to check combat systems were operational, then tapped his commbadge.

=/\=Price to bridge. Whats going on?=/\= he asked, confused.

" The phantoms must be individual B.O.R.G trying to get through. But if that many are coming through, here on Earth, then it's not an invasion. "

Scott's head dropped.

" It's a victory. "

Lee couldn't pick up anything around Earth. His sensors where blinded. All he could do was count down until they dropped out of warp.

" Coming out of warp in 5..4..3...2.....1 "

The Discovery screeched to a halt, halfway between the Earth and the moon, her view screen was filled with debris, which the ship was heading straight for.

" Any remaining power to weapons. "

Scott then rushed over to Lee at the science console.

" Lee, get me a reading on the phantoms. How many where there at last scan? "

Give me a moment sir.

The readings came up on the screen, and Scotts face went white.

" 3.5 million phantoms. All B.O.R.G "
