Kawolsky paused for thought, though not taking too long. He was well aware of the tricks Iconians could play at times and he wasn't about to let them get one over on him today. But he couldn't help being curious about the hail. The human inside of him was telling him to fire on that ship, whilst the Starfleet officer was telling him to open a channel. After a few seconds, he made up his mind.

"Open a channel"  he said

As the Channel opened, a tall, imposing face appeared on the screen.

" Federation vessel do not fire. We come in peace. This is general Raynar of the Iconian fleet. We mean you no harm.

We have searched for your ship for over a month now, please, hold your fire. "

Michael spun around to face his Captain.
"Sir, this might be a trick. I'm keeping us in the weakest spot of the warship. What are your orders?"

scott took a step closer to the front of the bridge.

" Nobody told you to do a goddamn thing! hold our position, in case you didnt hear we've got another two out there who could blow us away if we make a move! "

Michael spun around to face his Captain.
"Sir, this might be a trick. I'm keeping us in the weakest spot of the warship. What are your orders?"

Raynar raised his voice slightly.

" I assure you, we mean you no harm. We are separatists from the current political leaders of our people. We left and where persecuted for it.

I have someone here who could convince you of our intentions. "

stepping forward, Jacob spoke with a quiet, serene tone. Not like his usual  self.

" Discovery, this is master sergeant Jaco Abraham, reporting back. "

Kawolsky raised himself up from his chair, staring at the viewscreen.

"It can't be..."  he muttered  "You're dead"

" I know, i can explain everything sir. But a wonderful thing has happened, something that could help us end this war.

Please, allow a shuttle to come aboard the discovery. "

As this exchange was going on, Alan awoke from his self inflicted injuries, he sat up on the bed, feeling something in the air, like a strange current washing over him. It was then that he saw one of the mysterious symbols that had plagued him months ago. He began muttering, something came into his head, a flash of information

" the web, strands of time, matter energy, cause and effect. The everseeing eye is about to awake "

"Take a security team down to shuttlebay one."

Turning back to the viewscreen, he looked at Abraham.

"You and the General may come aboard...unarmed"

The screen flicked off, and Jacob and Raynar disappeared.

Lee sat at his console, not sure what to make of these new developments. He was brought to attention by another contact on his sensors.

" Sir the shuttle is leaving the Iconian hanger. "

Cortez was also reporting on the situation and he had a bad feeling. He didn't trust the Iconians - not one bit.

After a rather tense greeting on the shuttlebay, Scott escorted the General and 'Jacob' to the observation lounge, where the captain and other senior staff were waiting. Scott did not say one word to Jacob, this revelation had rocked him.
