Dakkor Reporting In
« on: April 27, 2017, 11:35:57 PM »
Character Details

Character Name: Dakkor
Character Age: 43
Character DOB: 1.2.2351
Character Image:
Character Species: Klingon
Gender: Male
Character Family: Orvahk (father/deceased), Vigga (mother/estranged), Kohvus (younger brother), Tayvis (younger sister)
Character Bio: Born in a settlement on the world of Anrus, Dakkor was the first of three children born to Orvahk and Vigga.  His father was a loremaster among his other duties in the settlement, and Dakkor grew up with great reverence for the tales of Kahless and the warrior culture of his people.

Dakkor was the best practitioner of Mok'bara in his settlement, and when it was prudent to do so, his father arranged for him to compete with other Klingon youths.  This was his passion until, at fifteen, an incident in the woods outside of his home caused the death of Orvahk, and led to a change in Dakkor's priorities.  A greater interest in combat pragmatism followed, with a focus on disruptors and battlefield strategy.

He left his home two years later.  It is noted that in this time he challenged his forest-dwelling uncle to a duel for unknown reasons, a contest which he won.  Vigga had harsh feelings about the death of her brother, causing a schism in his family that has never healed.

Dakkor's life after that hewed closer to civilization, with major population centers being his preferred ports of harbor rather than the untamed wilds of his past.  He used his skills to serve as an escort for shipments of valuable cargo, and gained a reputation as an honest and effective protector.  In time, his romantic ideals led him to seek enlistment with Starfleet, where he took an early interest in their medical programs.

His past experience allowed him to excel in the field of tactical security with little effort, so that he could focus his energy on medical studies.  With the aid of a Vulcan mentor, Sern, he made rapid progress in this area, eventually attaining clearance to work as medical personnel.

Your Details

Previous Role-Playing Experience: Ten years or so, in communities/topics ranging from gothic horror to scifi to what I can only describe as comic book.  Longest duration at one community was seven years.  I've been on hiatus for a while to pursue writing in other formats.
Department Preference: Security/Tactical
Secondary Department Preference: Medical
Commissioned, Enlisted or Civilian: Enlisted

Sample post: Dakkor went through his motions, his stance shifting fluidly from centered to extended and back again.  The Moq'bara katas had once been soothing to him, but he tasted irony, hypocrisy, in those familiar motions.

Klingon words echoed from the walls of his quarters, a dialect far removed from that of his old home.  The artificial voice struggled to translate human and Vulcan medical terms into a language in which they had no analog.  Nostrils flared, he breathed the scent of incense and concentrated on the unity of mind and body, of combat and healing.

The bat'leth on his wall burned with the flicker and glow of the candles about his feet.  The twin points of reflected light were like eyes in the face of a monster, frowning down at the medical kit that rested by the door.  A baldric lay in a heap upon the dresser, absent any hidden blade, but weighed instead by inclusions of a weaker calling.

Taking another breath, Dakkor went through his motions, letting his body remember its old movements while details of a past surgical case played again and again within the confines of his quarters.

Additional information: The structure of this forum looks a lot more regimented than what I'm used to.  I request patience while I learn the ropes, if I step on any toes I promise it won't be on purpose.

How did you find Shadow Fleet?: A friend (the player of K'lizh) recommended that I come.  Hoping to be stationed on the Tempest.

Dakkor,

A very good application.

You can find face pics at http://scifiavatars.com/?page=avatars.
Please post it as you are able.

I can definitely put you on the Tempest.

For now, let put you in the Medical Department..

Please let me know if you want to take the Enlisted Training Course right away.  It will help you get acclimated to our posting style.

Sincerely,

Kirok

Thank you for the assistance.  I don't mind having it sent to me, but I cannot promise completion by the end of the night.  Also, I will take a look at that website regarding face pictures and post as I am able.

No worries.

We can get the Course set up, but no need to complete if overnight ;-)

If you like, you may report into Julie Rellek and James Hawk for duty.

And we look forward to seeing your pic ;-)
