HELP TOPIC: Signature ID Cards

If you are new to Shadow Fleet, one of the first things you may notice when posting on the forums is that most players have an LCARS-themed ID card in their profile signature.

These ID cards are created by the ID Card Assistant and will be automatically created for all new players upon reaching 50 posts (Cadet II) (for commissioned players) or after one week of active posting (for enlisted players), and will be updated accordingly after each promotion or change in position.

Adding your ID card to your profile

You ID card should have been automatically created for you. All you need to do is insert the following code into your profile signature field, replacing "NAME" with your character's last name:

Code: [Select]

For example:

Code: [Select]

Note: URLs of ID cards do not include special characters, such as "", "", "" or "". If the name of your character includes on of these, please use the standard English letter in the URL.

Linking to your profile

It is also possible to link your ID card to your forum profile. To do this, simply add the following code to your profile signature field, replacing "NUMBER" with your unique profile ID number and "NAME" with your character's last name. Your unique ID number can be found by copying the link from your name on the forum member list.

Code: [Select]

For example:

Code: [Select]

Alternatively, should you wish to link your ID card to your character biography, simply replace the link in the code above with the link to your biography topic.

Requesting an ID card

If you do not have an ID card you may contact your Commanding Officer who will relay your request onto the ID Card Assistant. You will need to send the following information in order for it to be created:
  • Name
  • Rank
  • Position
  • Assignment
  • Character Image Link

Note that you should automatically receive your own personalized ID card upon reaching 50 posts (for officers) or after one week of active posting (for enlisted). Only use the above form to request one if this is not the case.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. I have copied the code but where do I paste it?
A. The code should be copied into your forum signature field. This can be found at "Profile" >> "Forum Profile."

2.  I copied/pasted the URL into my signature field but the ID card isn't showing.
A. Check you copied the URL exactly as it appears above and replaced "NAME" with your character's last name. If you are still having issues, please contact your Commanding Officer.

3. I don't know anything about code. Can somebody do this for me?
A. You don't need to know anything about coding to add the ID card to your signature. All this requires is for you to copy and paste the above and just change the "NAME" section to your character's last name.

4. I have added the code to my signature but the ID card it is showing is for somebody else.
A. Check that the code you have entered contains your own character's last name. If the problem persists, please contact your Commanding Officer.

5. I have added the code to my signature but it shows the wrong image/rank/position/assignment for my character.
A. Please send a private message to your Commanding Officer explaining the problem in more detail, including the information that is incorrect. Leave the code in your signature so the ID card updates automatically when the changes are made.

6. I have a question that is not listed here. What do I do?
A. If you have a question that is not listed above, please contact your Commanding Officer including as much detail about your problem as possible and the situation will be investigated.
